July 22, 2009 - Noah comes out looking right at Daddy and Grandma Nelson. Then he meets mom. He's 18 inches and 6lbs 3oz. Later in the day he meets Grandpa Nelson and Grandma and Grandpa Llorens

July 24, 2009 - Noah takes his first car ride to our home and is introduced to his new house.

July 25, 2009 – Noah has to visit the pediatrician because he was jaundice when he left the hospital. She tells him he's "perfect" and he now weighs 6lbs. Noah leans in while mommy is trying to burp him and sucks on her face. Mommy claims this is his first attempt at kissing mommy.

July 26, 2009 – Noah has his first gassy smile and we realize he is moving his neck around on his own. He cries from 7 pm – 11 pm.

July 30, 2009 – Noah rolls from his back to his side for the first time.

August 14, 2009 – Noah’s weighed at the doctor and weighs 7lbs 14oz. They tell us to expect this weight at his one-month appointment.

August 25, 2009 – Mommy takes Noah into the ghetto to get his passport. They mess it up by writing mommy’s maiden name as Amanda Drehobl Drehobl.

August 26, 2009 – Noah turns 5 weeks old and heads to the pediatrician for his One-month check up. He’s now 9lbs 7oz. and 21 inches long!

August 27, 2009 – Noah makes his first trip to DC with mommy to visit mommy’s old work.

August 28, 2009 – Noah’s passport is corrected and Noah is now officially eligible to become President in 2048.

August 29, 2009 – Noah’s first trip to VA.

August 31, 2009 – We apply for Noah’s passport. He’s ready to be a world traveler.

September 11, 2009 – Noah takes his first road trip to NYC. He’s amazing in the car. In New York he meets Raun and Aashik and Tony and Jo.

September 15, 2009 – Noah starts putting his cheek out for us to kiss.

September 28, 2009 – Two-month check up. Noah is 23 inches long and 11lbs 0.8oz. He has 5 vaccines at the doctor and shrieks, vomits, refuses the breast and is lethargic for 24 hours afterward.

October 4, 2009 – Mommy takes Noah on his first flight to Chicago on her own while daddy heads to Italy for work. Noah sleeps through take off and wakes up just before landing. He was amazing on the flight.

October 5, 2009 – Noah gets his first kiss from Aubriella. Mommy hopes this means they will get married some day.

October 6, 2009 – Noah says “dada” for the first time, but laughs at me when I ask him to repeat himself. Later, he skips his nightly four-hour crying session that began the first week we brought him home. I pray this is not a fluke.

October 18, 2009 - We take Noah on his first cross country flight to San Diego. Again, the child is amazing on the plane.

October 21 - Mommy takes Noah to Sea World. He loves the dolphins and spends 30 minutes try to talk back to them when they make their dolphin noises.

October 22, 2009 - Mommy takes Noah on his first boat ride on the way to Coronado Island. Daddy meets us there and we show Noah the Ocean together for the first time. We never thought our baby would see the Pacific Ocean before the Atlantic.

October 28, 2009 - Noah attends his first social issue discussion at the Johns Hopkins University. The discussion is on same-sex marriage. Noah thinks it's stupid that all people don't have equal rights so he starts to cry when the right-wing nutsos start talking. Mommy has to keep him in the lobby for the rest of the discussion.

November 15, 2009 - Noah says the words "lights" "good" "yeah" and "hey" for the first time.

November 24, 2009 - Mommy and daddy realize they haven't been giving Noah tummy time. So they flip him on his tummy. He rolls over and inches his way to mommy.

November 30, 2009 – Four-month check up time. Noah is 25 inches long and 13lbs 15oz. We opt out of having the whooping cough vaccine this time because the shrieking and vomiting after the last round of vaccines may mean he had an adverse reaction to the whooping cough vaccine. Noah cries after the vaccines, but is easy to calm and sleeps and feeds without incident.

December 4, 2009 - Noah no longer looks like it's an accident when he rolls over. He hates tummy time and very deliberately rolls from his stomach to his back after about 4 minutes of tummy time.
